We are currently on the lookout for a Houdini (surface operation) artist to join our small team to mainly work on the creation of environmental assets for use in a driver in the loop simulator for one of our longest standing F1 clients.

About the role:

You will strengthen our procedural modelling abilities, updating our existing modelling workflows where possible to a procedural one. This will include the modelling and mapping of assets such as buildings, grandstands, fencing, street furniture, curbing, barriers.......

In our existing pipeline we perform more traditional modelling, unwrapping and texturing of assets via 3DS max, Photoshop, Substance Painter, RizomUV and Quixel Megascans for use in an Unreal (UE4/5) real-time environment and so any experience or interest with these tools would be advantageous.  A basic understanding and interest in real-time material/shader development within UE4/5 would be beneficial.

Remote working options can be discussed once established within the team and familiar with how we work but the majority of the time, you would be expected to work at our offices in Bramley, Hampshire.

The ability to be self motivated and passionate about the work you will be doing is crucial, as we love the work we do and the clients really appreciate the extra effort we go to, which has led us to this exciting time in our growth and development.

With us being a small team, you will most likely get to work on a variety of other high profile automotive or motorsport projects from time to time if that interests you.  Rather than being a small cog in a big wheel, here at Q3D you could help shape the processes and workflows used throughout the business on several exciting projects.  You will be expected to take guidance and leadership from senior members of our team but your opinions and ideas will always be encouraged and welcome as we are looking for the best candidates as we continue to grow and thrive to be the best in the business.
